(something for blog zealots to ponder)
i don't blog everyday.
people say update. update. update.
(they reiterate reiteration)
i say:
words are like minutes,
like last seconds
if you've ever lived like you were dying
you'd want every word
like the minutes or seconds
to matter
to be substantive
weighty
stick to people's ribs
sneak in their blood-memory
hold meaning
like lovers that find their reflection
in a spoon
so I could chat about coaching basketball
or how tired I am after teaching 14 year olds all day
or how much I love waking up to do it again
or the bills I have to postpone
or how I feel I will not have these money woes for long
or why i don't have scrilla to publish my next book
or the updates on the (amazing) love I'm pursuing
or the lessons I'm learning for the first time because I'm learning patience
or how I sometimes think about finishing my Ph.D. (but remember why I'm not)
or what pisses me off about conservatives (or liberals)
or why I miss my family, but feel a need to have distance with them at present
or the next or
but I choose to share
me
when spirit calls me to
share me
when i feel the words
come forth unforced
like minutes or seconds
that remind
I gots time
not to waste time
or words.
feel me?

I am definitely with you on this Tim'm. Big surprise, huh. When the blog is forced or contrived, it loses it's effectiveness. Your blogs in particular are poetic, meaningful and timely. You shouldn't fill it everyday (or weekly) if the inspiration is not there.
Some blogs are intended as a daily journal for the creators. They are writing a diary for themselves but publishing it for the world to see, feel, hear, comment and react. In a way, commenters become that little voice that let's them know that they are doing all right or that they are screwing up and need to come back to reality.
Bottom line, it's your blog to reveal as much about you as you choose to share. You determine the time and manner. Keep it real. (Duke 72, Pennsylvania 59) Shem hotep.
it's your blog. do what you feel, when you feel. everything else falls into place.
Kia Ora (Hello) from a blogger down under in New Zealand. I blog to express myself, not to impress others. People seem to read, but few leave comments ???
I have to agree with you on this one, big brother.
A blog is a personal space for you to express yourself in your own space online.
You respond when you feel th eneed to...I havent b een able to post as much because im busy with life, etc.
So, I really wouldn't think too much about folk who want you to post everyday. you post when you can...plain and simple.
people that blog every damn day are just hideous. And UN INTERESTING. have you ever read other blogs? the majority are just plain hideous.
"Oh my gawd ! I like, got up today, and then I brushed my teeth, and then I, like, realized I didn't like crest whitening anymore 'cos it's not, like really whitening, so I was like mad and like yelled at my parrot, who I've like named Shamequa..."

From what I've seen, bloggers who have daily entries are self-absorbed attention seeking idiots who think they are the shit trying to write to appear better than all of their 3 friends(whom are the ONLY one's reading their blog anyway).
You know I dig the stuff you write Tim'm. It's always just enough.
And I should probably shut up since I haven't blogged in a few months anyway. Hee hee...
tadaaaa.
nice read there, keep em comming my cable is out ;)
